About

The Norwegian title translates to “…someone will always whisper in your ear…”.

This string orchestra piece is loosely inspired by Ibsen’s play *Rosmersholm*. It is built on three musical materials – a “ghostly” chord, an aggressive pizzicato motif, and a softer glissando material that interact throughout the piece.

I began writing this piece in the spring when I was accepted into the Norwegian Academy of Music and completed it during my first year of studies. I was fortunate to hear it performed in workshops during my studies, and it was later selected for a festival in Lithuania in the spring of 2003 and for Ung Nordisk Musikk in Oslo that fall.

In 2024, I finally created a digital version of my handwritten original. In the process, I refined the notation and made a few revisions.
