A while back, I received a commission from Ensemble Kammerklang in Vestfold. It’s especially meaningful to write for an ensemble “from home” – I grew up on Tjøme in Vestfold. The piece is inspired by exactly that: my personal story and the coastal sounds of the area.
Ensemble Kammerklang also commissions and performs a series of short pieces (1-minute works) that they combine in various ways for their concerts. Although the full piece isn’t finished yet, I had enough material to create “Tåkelur, utsnitt” for their first album recording this June. The full work has the working title “Tåkelur”, while this piece (“Tåkelur, utsnitt”) is a 1-minute version.
It was such a joy to spend a packed day in Horten – rehearsing, recording, and performing!
